Served in the Royal Saudi Army from 1955 until 1984, reaching the rank of Major General. In 1976, was named to head the International Airports Projects Directorate of
the Ministry of Defence and Aviation, which was setup to construct new International Airports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, Riyadh and the Eastern
Province. Earlier served the Ministry of Defence and Aviation as Deputy Director of Budget.
Was a member and Chairman of several high level Ministerial Committees of Programming and Planning. Was honoured to be Deputy President of Civil Aviation by His Royal Highness
Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence and Aviation.Was an active member of Airport Operators Council International. Served as
co-chairman of AOCI's International Affairs Committee and participated in numerous conventions and symposiums of the Council in San Francisco, Vienna and Honolulu. Was a member of the Board of Directors of Saudia
Airlines and a member of the Board of the International Road Federation. Written two books, namely: Using Computer in Town Planning and Arab Town Organization. |
